Roller blinds are a really nice clean simple look for your windows, a modern look with a classic product. With a really functional and easy to use chain system these blinds are great if you want a simple window covering that almost disappears when rolled up. Perfect if you have great views or tight space. They will also help to create the illusion of space in a room opposed to heavy drapes.
Blockout fabrics are great for areas where you don't want drapes but still want something to block the light and keep some of the heat in. They are a great economical option as well as the basic blockout blinds are very well priced. There are however many different types of fabric from lovely textures to bright colours and even patterns. There is a new product we now have available where you can choose from all sorts of funky prints for your roller blinds and even get matching vertical blinds, curtains and accessories. For more info see the links at the bottom of this page.
Lightfilter fabrics gives you a nice softer option in between a blockout and a sunscreen. If you need a bit more privacy or sun protection than the sunscreen gives but don't want to block the light out completely, then the light filter fabrics are your way to go. They allow for a lovely soft diffusion of light to filter through so still bringing light into a room but cut out a lot more of the harsh sunlight coming in than the sunscreen blinds. You can not see out of these blinds at all and at night time if anyone was looking in from outside they would only see a very faint shadow or movement if you were close to the window. They come in a large range of different fabrics, in different textures and patterns. You can also get matching blockout fabrics in most of the designs so you can mix and match blinds types but still keeping that lovely cohesive look throughout your home.
Sunscreen Roller Blinds are a great option to replace nets or voiles when you prefer a more simpler look that will last a lot longer in our harsh sun.
Working the same as the standard roller blinds the fabric has been made with a defined weave to it with varying 'openness' factors. The more open the weave the easier it is to see out, the more light that comes in and the less private it is. So depending on your needs and requirements we will have a fabric weave to suit. One interesting thing to take note of is the different colours available, the darker colours are much easier to see out of than the lighter colours, and will also look quite different from the outside. We have a huge range of fabrics available for these blinds from very basic plain fabrics to more textured looks.
If you like the sound of having both blockout and sunscreen blinds on 1 window, we have a double bracket system to give you the flexibility to have all aspects of your window covered in a lovely simple design. Have the sunscreen blind down during the day to give you both sun protection and privacy and then pull the blockout blind down over top in the evening to give you even more privacy, help to insulate your home and block out the light to help you get a better nights sleep. All of this while giving you a clean, simple and modern window treatment.
The Vision blind combines the ideal balance of privacy and light control with the fashionable, eye-catching trend of bold stripes and colour blocking.
The exceptional Vision fabric collection features beautiful metallic lustre, natural woven wood effects, a fashionable selection of muted tones, striking tri-colour designs and now even a sleep friendly blackout fabric. A truly sophisticated range that is sure to work beautifully in any room in the home.
Easy to use, a single control is used to slide the opaque and translucent woven stripes past each other. As you move the control up or down the stripes glide between each other creating an open and closed effect, with limitless light control. Sliding the fabric into a closed 'opaque-opaque' position allows full privacy and an impressive block of beautiful fabric at your window, whilst the 'translucent-opaque' position creates a stunning striped statement. Venetian Blinds are still one of the most popular styles of blind.
These days they are available in the standard aluminum, a range of lovely timbers as well as several different types of ‘fake’ woods.
These blinds are a great way to give you privacy and enable you to control how the sun and light enters the room.
Having them either fully closed and
blocking all light and sun or having them open and tilted at various angles to give you the ability to see out but control how people see in and how the sun comes in.
Timber Venetians are becoming more and more popular, the lovely warmth of the wood gives them a bit more character than the traditional aluminum and you can get a range of painted colours, from whites to beiges to black.
Today the woods are so well treated that you shouldn't need to worry about warping or fading or moisture. However for those of you that are still skeptical or that require extra protection there are several products that are made to look like wood but are not. They vary from supplier to supplier but most are a polymer resin product which looks very close to wood but is a slightly heavier product. These are a bit cheaper than the real thing, they are a very close match but due to there weight are not recommended in large sizes.
Venetian blinds are also available in a variety of different blade widths to give different looks, there is the standard 25mm aluminum and then with the wood you can go up to a nice wide 63mm blade. The wider widths give a more chunky, almost shutter like appearance.
Available in painted finishes and various stains there is sure to be one to match your interior. However for an extra cost you can have some of the blinds painted to match whatever paint colour you have or would like. A great versatile, simple and attractive product. Crisp, clean and lovely; these pleated cellular blinds add an air of stylish luxury to any home. Also known as Honeycomb or Duette blinds these are built for insulation so if its warmth you are after these are the best blinds for you. Air is trapped in the cellular honeycomb construction creating an effective barrier against cold windows and draughts. The blinds are easy to use and clean and the unique honeycomb action of the blind means that when it is pulled up it takes up very little headroom in your window or door. This maximizes views and creates a very minimal look in the room. You can even have blinds that are hand raised with no cords leaving your room with a clean streamlined look. There is also an option for night and day blinds so you can benefit from the great insulation during the day as well as being able to bring down a blockout one for night time.
When a Thermacell blind is fitted inside a window jamb it fits tight to the top of the jamb, falls flat onto the sill and has a minimal gap of 3-5mm at the sides. This is the tightest fitting blind or curtain you will find and so it will form an efficient layer of still air. As well as the air between the window and blind the cellular structure of the blind then creates another insulating layer. If its insulation and warmth you are after, look no further, these blinds are ideal for this and is what they are designed for.
If you want to have privacy and insulation during the day but don't want to block the light out then the light filter or opaque fabric options would be ideal. They can stay down during the day to help keep the warmth in on those cold winter days, as well as giving great privacy from the outside. However they will still let the light filter through so they don't make the rooms too dark. Great for family rooms or living areas.
If you not only need great insulation but also something to blockout the light then the blockout option is the way to go. Because these blinds fit so tight into your window jamb when you have the blockout fabrics they give great light blocking properties. Much better than a blockout roller blind that has more prominent gaps around the edges. Great for kids bedrooms or movie rooms. The blockout options will also provide more insulation properties than the light filtering so something to bear in mind if your main issue is insulation.
If you want the best of both worlds; light filtering for day and then blockout for night, we have the perfect solution for you. The day and night binds give the ability to have both a light filter blind and a blockout blind in the same window frame. One blind pulls up or down to replace the other so you can have the choice of which you would like covering the window when.

They are great where you don't want anything too busy but still want to cover all bases. They will give you daytime privacy, sun protection, light blocking and a small amount of insulation as well. They work really well as they can be pulled right to the side like drapes but when they are across they can either be shut to give warmth, privacy and to darken the room or they can be open and tilted to give privacy as well as keeping the suns harsh rays out.
